In the photo showing the back of the MyOrigo MyDevice, the IMEI number and barcodes have been obscured for privacy reasons. However, they are fully visible on the actual label.

This is a functional prototype, possibly the only one of its kind in the world, and has never been available on the market. It is a piece worthy of display in a technology museum, a tangible relic from the birth of the modern smartphone. Its value is technical, historical and cultural. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a significant legacy item that is likely to appreciate over time.

Unlike the commercial model, the MyOrigo MyDevice prototype is incomplete, and comes without original packaging, manuals or accessories, as it was a lab unit used for testing and early presentations prior to mass production. Some functions may not work or may not operate properly, as this is a pre-production version of the final retail product.

Due to copyright reasons, I have not included pictures from the book I mentioned, but I have added a brief summary of the content discussed in the book about the MyOrigo MyDevice prototype and its relationship with Apple and Steve Jobs:

• On pages 128–129, Väänänen recounts how Steve Jobs took the MyDevice in his hands and remarked that the swipe recognition didn’t work properly (which was true, as it was still a prototype). Among other questions, Jobs was particularly interested in why the keyboard could not rotate for use in portrait orientation.
• On page 169, Johannes explains that Apple had already expressed interest in the touchscreen technology (HaptiTouch) for its upcoming generation of iPods and requested the prototypes and software development kit for further study.
  
  
• On page 203, Väänänen openly states that the iPhone's development shows an obvious copy of the MyOrigo MyDevice concept.

MyOrigo MyDevice was the world’s first smartphone to introduce:

• A finger-operated touchscreen (no stylus required)
• Haptic feedback — feel every keystroke on the virtual keyboard
• Automatic screen orientation (landscape to portrait and vice versa)
• A full QWERTY keyboard on a touchscreen, fully usable with fingers
• A full-featured internet browser — small tilts scrolled the page; websites appeared just like they would on a PC
